Sunday 23rd February 2025 OFF

The planned race meeting for the United Downs Raceway, St Day on Sunday 23 February has been cancelled.

On 20 February, the Met Office issued a Yellow Weather Warning - click here for full details. - whilst the essence of the warning is as follows:

"A broad band of occasionally heavy rain will push east during Sunday, bringing a spell of around 9-12 hours of rain. The rain will set in around mid-morning and not clear until around mid-evening. The rain will be heaviest over high ground, especially over south or southwest-facing upslopes. Widely 30-40 mm of rain is expected, but in a few places nearer 50-70 mm is possible."

Hence, where we had hoped to be looking forward to the start of the new season, numerous factors have conspired to work against us, most notably the horrendous weather forecast for Sunday 23 February, and we have taken the unenviable decision to cancel the meeting.

Sunday 23 February at St Day is OFF.  The Yellow Weather Warning issued by the Met Office on 20 February has underlined what a challenging day it would have been to try to run the race meeting.
