605 Richie Andrews

At the race meeting at the United Downs Raceway, St Day on Sunday 26 March, BriSCA F2 Stock Car driver 605 Richie Andrews had to be extricated from his car after a crash in the feature final.

Medical staff treated Richie for the neck injury he sustained in the crash.

Richie was subsequently taken to hospital, where he was kept in overnight for observations.

On Monday 27 March, Richie was released from hospital.  He will continue to be monitored, after further tests revealed an injury to his lung and a fracture to one of the bones in his back.  He sent the following message to Autospeed:
"I would like to say a massive thankyou to you and all the trackstaff and paramedics honestly done a absolute grand job! I'm finally at home after spending the night in hospital...
...I'm high spirits and will still be at the meetings to watch! See you track side and thankyou again."

We wish Richie well on his continued recovery.
