RIP Nick Wadge

Autospeed were saddened to learn of the passing of Nick Wadge.

Nick had been a long-standing member of the Autospeed team, having been involved in various roles for more than a quarter of a century.

From specialst Fire Marshal, to Clerk of the Course and Steward, Nick fulfilled many of the positions, bringing with him an air of authority, but with a firm fairness and consistency that earned him widespread respect amongst fellow officials and drivers.  Nick's Health & Safety background was instrumental in Autospeed continually striving for high standards, and rarely was Nick more in his element than when leading regular Training Sessions - his expertise in fire training and extrication invariably coming to the fore.  Nick's passion and dedication helped to create strong teamwork amongst Autospeed officials.

Regrettably, ill health in the past couple of years dramatically reduced his involvement, especially during the two most recent seasons which have been conducted with the ever-present concerns of the coronavirus pandemic.

Nick will be greatly missed, notably so as the figurehead of the team of Autospeed personnel.  The thoughts of all are with his friends and family.
