15 September Cancelled

The 15 September fixture at the United Downs Raceway, St Day, has been cancelled.

Drivers were given 48 hours, up to 7pm on Friday 6 September, to significantly boost bookings, but this has not happened.

By the deadline, Driver interest can be summarised as:
National Bangers - feeble
Bangers - weak
Ministox - good
BriSCA Micro F2s - very good

Unfortunately, this meeting falls below the standards that Autospeed wish to present, and whilst it is a major disappointment to the junior and infant racers, a sub-standard event would do little to encourage racegoers to visit again.

Autospeed recognises the time of year is busy for drivers.  Bangers have been very pre-occupied with the More Sparks fixture at Smeatharpe on 7 September.  The PRI Banger World Final and the National Bangers World Championship at Ipswich are also prevalent in the minds of many drivers.  By giving drivers this 'break' in September, will hopefully help many to recharge their batteries in readiness for the remaining fixtures in October and November.

This is the second consecutive season that a September fixture at St Day has been cancelled, and this will be factored into discussions about events for 2025.

Further news on revised fixtures will be announced on, or before, Tuesday 10 September 2024.  This will take into account the cancellation of 15 September at St Day, and other feedback that has been received on the issue of the busy month of September, for which Autospeed are grateful.
