1974 And All That

Rewind 50 years, to 18 August 1974, and arrive at a significant and memorable moment in Stock Car racing history.

That was the occasion that the BriSCA F2 Stock Car World Championship final was held at Wembley Stadium, London.

Autospeed pioneer Trevor Redmond took Stock Car racing to Wembley in 1974, staging two race meetings - with the F2 World Final being the second of the pair.  Cornishman Dave Brown won the title, as he became only the second driver to win the World title for a second time.  Alistair Jackson from Northern Ireland was the runner-up, and outgoing World Champion Tom Pitcher made his final appearance under the gold roof as he finished third.
