Nick Antwerpen Review Update

Autospeed have completed the review of the issue surrounding the request from Raceway Venray for H153 Nick Antwerpen to be seeded on to the Saloon Stock Car World Championship grid.

Having previously been involved in extensive criticism of the Saloon Stock Car Association and of Autospeed, Antwerpen was not accepted for the Saloon Stock Car World Championship at Smeatharpe on Saturday 30 September.  This triggered some ridiculous ill-informed outbursts on social media which did but harm to Antwerpen's cause.

Antwerpen's representatives from Raceway Venray had courteously lobbied Autospeed for a review of the matter.  Further information was also made available, and Autospeed agreed to conduct further enquiries of relevant persons.

The important points to note from the review, are:
1/ Autospeed welcomed the apology that was received from Nick Antwerpen.
2/ Autospeed were most grateful for the thoughtful and respectful communication from former Saloon Stock Car World Champion Dirk Thomas, which was forwarded by way of the Saloon Stock Car Association.
3/ The co-operation from the following Saloon Stock Car drivers (16 Jeremy van de Kraats, 199 Phil Powell, 350 Tommy Parrin, 389 Ryan Santry, 600 Barry Russell, 626 Derek Duff, 677 Warren Darby, 747 Matthew Stirling, 811 Kieran McIvor) was swift, concise, informative and highly productive.
4/ The polite request from 389 Ryan Santry, for Autospeed to consider a resolution to the issue which would be for the good of Saloon Stock Cars.

All communication was considered and discussed, and the conclusion was arrived at whereby H153 Nick Antwerpen has been informed that he will be accepted to take his place in the Saloon Stock Car World Championship at Smeatharpe on Saturday 30 September.

In conclusion, Autospeed would particularly like to thank Henri Wittebol of Raceway Venray, former Saloon Stock Car World Champion Dirk Thomas and Saloon Stock Car driver 389 Ryan Santry for their invaluable help on this matter.  Their contributions have helped considerably to achieve the resolution that has been reached.
