English Championship

A new name looks certain to be added to the Roll of Honour, as there are no previous winners of the English title expected on the grid.
Having won major Championships at Smeatharpe before, 9 Chris Drake and 776 Simon Jones will be keen to turn back the clock to their respective finest hours.
No westcountry driver has travelled as extensively this year as 14 Ross Montgomery.  Will the experience gained hold him in good stead on his home circuit?

Saloon Stock Cars

After a break from westcountry racing of more than one month, the Saloon Stock Cars will return to action in the south west with three meetings in the space of eight days.
Former English Champion 27 Kieren Bradford has made a belated start to the 2019 season.  Time spent refurbishing his old car has left him to make a late entry into the season.
He will join a trio of fellow westcountry drivers in the star grade - stalwart racer 199 Phil Powell and teenagers 980 Charlie Lobb and 902 Junior Buster.
After a highly successful run at Smeatharpe in late May and mid-June, 210 Paul Barnes has found himself returning to the yellow grade, where he will grid with a plethora of local racers such as
799 Joe Powell, 28 Ian Govier and Cornish racer 447 Adam Hicks.
84 Carl Boswell is also due to make another of his regular visits to the south west.
Further home interest will centre on 444 Kieran Bellringer and 23 Max Gunter, who will each be looking to make the most of starting at the front of the grid.
Having made his track debut on 22 June, 50 Ben Murray is planning on making another visit to the south west.
East Anglian involvement will include 214 Tom Yould and star graders 800 Scott Greenslade and 399 Cole Atkins.
English Champion 730 Deane Mayes is another aiming to make the trek west.

Raceday Programme

In the Five Years Ago section of the Raceday Programme, the race date of 20 July 2014 will be under focus, and what a meeting that was.  9 Chris Drake became the first westcountry winner of the British Championship for Stock Rods, but after incredible damage sustained during Westcountry Wreckfest, can you recall the amazing pit area work carried out by 190 Steve Bailey and his team, to be able to make it to the grid for the Destruction Derby?
