On this day in 2000, new Autospeed promoters Andrew Carter and Crispen Rosevear staged their first midweek fixture, with a Wednesday night meeting at Retallack Park, St Columb.  Whilst 542 Peter Gilbert won the feature final for F2s, the night belonged to 306 Neil Truran in the Stock Rods, as he followed up a win in the final by hunting down 123 Steve Tucker in the closing stages of the Grand National, after conceding the obligatory one lap handicap.
