On this day in 1986, BriSCA F2 Stock Car history was well and truly made at St Austell, where 778 Colin Higman raced the first Ford 2-litre Pinto powered car.  In the Cornish circuit’s World Championship qualifying round, Colin placed second in his heat, despite some overheating issues and ended the day with a fifth place in the Grand National.
