On This Day - 22nd May

On this day in 1976, a slightly rare Saturday fixture at The Racecourse, Newton Abbot saw a heat and final double in the Hot Rods for 13 Terry Soper, who raced this Mini pick-up in the class (pictured in the pits at St Austell during that season).  When Terry brought his racing career to a close, he subsequently became the Steward at Autospeed for many seasons, officiating at many venues, but primarily at Newton Abbot, Smeatharpe, St Day, St Columb and Ringwood.
