On This Day - 16th May

On this day in 1999, the first ever Crasharama event was held at Smeatharpe, carrying £1999 of prize money.  Although 188 Charlie Lonsdale won the main race, the day was best remembered for the awesome Yanks of 724 Gus Carter and reigning World Champion 162 Brett Ellacott.
