Taffy Thomas - RIP

Autospeed were saddened to learn that former BriSCA F2 Stock Car racer Alwyn 'Taffy' Thomas had passed away.

Having previously raced Bangers and Jaguars, Taffy switched to BriSCA F2s at the turn of the 1980s, reaching superstar status in May 1982, after a scintillating start to that season, which included a feature final win at St Austell on Easter Monday (see below).

Through his Celtic Rock Services business, based in Buckfastleigh, Devon, Taffy helped many local drivers, and sponsored assorted events across the westcountry, but notably at The Racecourse, Newton Abbot.

Autospeed pass their sincere condolences to Taffy's family and friends at this sad time.
