RIP - Neale Sillifant
Autospeed were saddened to learn that former BriSCA F2 Stock Car star, Neale Sillifant, passed away on 3 November 2023. Condolences are extended to Neale's friends and family.
Neale started out in BriSCA F2 Stock Cars in the 1970s, racing regularly in his native south west alongside the stars of the era - Bill Batten, Colin Higman and Dave Brown. Neale's strong attendance record and consistent results saw him progress to the star grade.
Having brought his BriSCA F2 racing to a close, Neale switched to the Auto Rods/Saloon Stox, and became a mainstay of the formula in the 1980s. He top scored in season 1984, to win the Points Championship and claim the silver roof.
Underlining the family connection within Stock Car racing, Neale's son Derek, and Neale's grandson Gary, also raced BriSCA F2 Stock Cars, whilst another of Neale's grandson's, Ben started out in Ministox and Neale's granddaughter Christina is a current day regular in the Ministox.
The H N Sillifant & Son haulage business has regularly backed racing with Autospeed, including the British Championship for Autos Rods, and with three generations of the Sillifant family represented, they were the sponsors of the memorable last ever BriSCA F2 Stock Car fixture at St Columb on 7 July 2009.
