FORDS Care Mechanics Race 2015

Not only was this year's FORDS Care Mechanics Race at Smeatharpe a very exciting contest, but it also gave the FORDS Care Charity a welcome financial boost, raising close to £1000.

The efforts of the drivers to raise such an amount of money are to be warmly applauded, along with the kind generosity of the owners of the Autospeed Bangers that were raced in the event.

246 Kelly Bradford set a new record, in terms of money raised for FORDS Care, and that earned her pole position for the race, which developed into a head-to-head showdown between her and 912 Sam Rees.  The two drivers pushed and shoved one another in the scramble for first place, but despite some lead changes, it was Kelly who held on in a dramatic last bend, to air punch her way past the chequered flag.  133 Joe Powell completed the top three.
