All Things Bangers

Autospeed are currently undergoing their annual autumnal review of All Things Bangers, with a view to announcing early plans for next season.

A detailed Newsletter covering (Rookie) Bangers, 2 Litre Old Skool Bangers and National Bangers, will be distributed to all registered drivers, during the week commencing 17 October.

(Rookie) Bangers
Drivers are given advance notice that the (Rookie) Bangers will be changing to a 1600cc limit.  This change has been noted in the (Rookie) Bangers rules for the past two seasons.  The new limit will be implemented from the start of April 2017, which will give drivers with existing 1800cc cars an opportunity to race one last time at each track (St Day and Smeatharpe), before the switch to 1600cc.
The reasoning behind the change to 1600cc is:
- to fall more in line with corresponding formulas at other promotions
- to encourage drivers to look at racing in the 2-litre Old Skool Bangers
- to restrict (Rookie) Bangers to smaller and less powerful cars
- to potentially offer a ‘stepping stone’ opportunity for some Ministox drivers reaching the upper age limit, to move into a senior formula
