120 - Brown And Out - The One-Two-Go Show

On Saturday 2 July, at Smeatharpe Stadium, there will be a very special event - "Brown And Out - The One-Two-Go Show", which is a tribute and farewell meeting, to celebrate the remarkable short oval racing career of Shane Brown.


The race meeting will feature Ministox - the formula which Shane began his short oval racing career in; National Bangers - the formula in which Shane built a formidale reputation for wrecking, racing and scoring notable successes; and Saloon Stock Cars - the formula in which Shane achieved multiple Championship victories.

Ministox

All Ministox drivers are welcome to attend this meeting, but should book through their own promotion.
Autospeed drivers are welcome to race this meeting, or opt to seek entry for the British Championship at Mildenhall (depending upon the number of spaces allocated to Autospeed)

National Bangers

Drivers are very stronly encouraged to use pre-1990 cars - to tie in with the era when Shane raced National Bangers.
No Frog Eyes or Previas
The Ford i4 "ultima" 2.3 engine is not permitted
A separate set of "build rules" is being finalised for this meeting.

To book in, a driver should notify their name, race number and home town.  All drivers will then be placed on a provisional booking list until they have lodged a photo of themselves stood with the car they intend to race.  On successful receipt of that photo, the driver will then be transferred to a confirmed booking list.

With so many drivers expected from Shane's era in National Bangers, it is hoped to start the meeting with heats for modern day racers and heats for drivers from 'back in the day', with all drivers then combining for later races - the Final, the Allcomers and the DD.
All of the day's races for National Bangers will be to (full contact) National Banger rules.

Saloon Stock Cars

All Saloon Stock Car drivers are welcome to attend.
Bookings should be made through the usual recognised channels with the Saloon Stock Car Association booking agent.
